K-12 Registration

Please use the link below to access the registration documents which includes instructions on how to complete the forms. Families must complete these registration forms, as well as applicable affidavits, and return them to the District Registrar along with appropriate proof of age for each student, and two documents that will serve as proof of residency. A list of acceptable documents is included in this registration packet.

If you are unable to print and email these documents, you can pick up registration forms and return the completed packet to the Administration building at 22 Horse Hollow Road between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. We will have an inbox and outbox there for your convenience and safety.

The Locust Valley Central School District affirms that its primary responsibility is to provide the best possible educational opportunities for those children who are legal district residents. Students who are determined not to be legal residents of the school district shall be removed pursuant to Board Policy and State Education Law.  The parents and/or legal guardians of students who are found to have attended Locust Valley Schools illegally shall be charged tuition for the time that they have been found not to be valid residents of the district.

Universal Pre-K Registration

LVCSD Pre-Kindergarten Program: The Locust Valley Central School District (LVCSD) will be offering a full day (9:25 a.m.- 2:25 p.m.), 5-day a week, tuition-free Pre-Kindergarten program for eligible 4-year-old children for the 2024-25 school year, pending grant funding. This program is being funded through Pre-K grant funds awarded to LVCSD by the New York State Education Department.

Age and Residency Requirements: To apply, students must reside within the LVCSD attendance area and must be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024. Students who are age eligible for kindergarten cannot apply for the Pre-K lottery as per NYSED regulations. One entry per eligible child is allowed. For twins/multiples, complete ONLY ONE application and include both/all names.

Locations and Total Number of Spots: There are a total of 36 slots for Pre-K students available in the LVCSD lottery.

• Ann MacArthur Primary School: 18 slots

• Bayville Primary School: 18 slots

Transportation: Transportation will NOT be provided.

How does the lottery work?

1. Each family who registers an eligible pre-k child will get a lottery number.

2. These numbers will be pulled during our pre-k lottery drawing.

3. If a set of twins or multiples is entered into the lottery, we will adjust the number of guaranteed spots until we determine the number of students. For example, if there is a set of twins, we would begin the wait list at spot 17.

4. Parents will receive a welcome email if their child/children is/are selected for one of the 36 placements. This letter will detail the registration and confirmation process.

We look forward to welcoming your child into the Locust Valley school community and encourage you to complete your registration packets by Dec. 15, 2023.

Forms will be found above on Nov. 27. You may complete the forms and submit them electronically. For those families that prefer to complete the forms on hard copies, the packets may be picked up at the Administration Building at 22 Horse Hollow Road in Locust Valley.

Please be sure to attach a copy of your child’s birth/baptismal certificate or passport to certify proof of age.

• Children eligible for September 2024 universal prekindergarten must be four years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024. The lottery registration will open online on Nov. 27, 2023 and remain open through Dec. 15, 2023. The lottery for the PreK program will take place on Jan. 10, 2024.

Proof of residency is required even if you already have other children in our school district. Without the proper required documents, we will not be able to process your registration.

Children will not be admitted to our schools until all required immunizations are complete and the physical examination form, signed by a New York State physician, is returned.

Asegúrese de adjuntar una copia del certificado de nacimiento/bautismo o pasaporte de su hijo a certificar comprobante de edad.

• Los niños elegibles para el pre kínder de septiembre de 2024 deben tener cuatro años el 1 de diciembre de 2024 o antes. El registro de lotería se abrirá en línea el 10 de enero de 2024 y permanecerá abierto el 27 de noviembre de 2024. La lotería para el PreK El programa tendrá lugar el 10 de enero de 2024.

Se requiere prueba de residencia incluso si ya tiene otros niños en nuestra escuela distrito. Sin los documentos requeridos adecuados, no podremos procesar su registro.

Los niños no serán admitidos en nuestras escuelas hasta que todas las vacunas requeridas estén completas y el formulario de examen físico, firmado por un médico del estado de Nueva York, sea devuelto.
