Four Locust Valley High School students have been named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, earning national recognition for their exceptional academic promise.
Scarlett Modlin, Gianna Moreano, Ryan Raichoudhury and Dylan Robson received the distinction based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT administered last October. They join approximately 34,000 Commended Students nationwide - the top 2.6%.
“We are incredibly proud of Dylan, Gianna, Ryan, and Scarlett for earning this prestigious national recognition. Earning a National Merit Commendation is a significant milestone, and it is wonderful to see these outstanding students recognized on a national stage. The honor is a direct reflection of their deep commitment to learning and their hard work over the years. They truly embody the spirit of excellence we strive for at Locust Valley High School, and they serve as fantastic role models for our entire school community. Congratulations to our Commended Students on this remarkable achievement, and also to their families and our staff for the supportive environments fostered which, in different ways, contribute to this mark of academic excellence,” said high school Principal Patrick DiClemente.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” said a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
