The Falcons won their homecoming contest 35-7.

After a week of homecoming festivities, the Locust Valley Falcons soared to a 35-7 win over Lawrence on Sept. 17 at the newly rededicated Fred Smith Field. It was the Falcons’ first game on the new, turf field and new head coach Michael Gilbert’s first win.

Running backs Charlie Pisciotta and Michael Dilorenzo each had a long touchdown rumble, quarterback Christian Corey tossed a score of his own, and the defense and special teams each had a takeaway against the Golden Tornadoes. Both units had a takeaway in the first few plays of the game with special teams recovering a muffed catch on the opening kickoff and the defense stripping Lawrence of the ball on their first drive.

The Falcons never looked back after Pisciotta’s 83-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and took a commanding 28-0 lead into the half. The defense bent but did not break, causing a turnover on downs with the Golden Tornadoes in the red zone on their opening drive of the second half.
