Dear Locust Valley Seniors, Staff, and Parents/Guardians:
It has been a year filled with successful academic performance, outstanding programs and performances, and many well-organized events sponsored by many of you through clubs, teams, and organizations. Graduation from Locust Valley High School marks many years of study, diligence with your coursework, and the involvement with classmates, staff, and the community through service efforts, spirit-filled activities, and memorable participation beyond the classroom. Congratulations...you should be very proud!
The high school Graduation of the Class of 2025 is today -- Thursday, June 26th at 5pm on the Fred Smith Field at Locust Valley High School.
Graduation Day
Graduates and their guests will enter the campus and proceed to the parking lot. The campus will be staffed with security/chaperones. Graduates will proceed to the gymnasium in preparation for the procession to the field; graduates must arrive by 4PM. All guests proceed directly to the field area. Graduate seating will be on the main field area. Guests will assume seating by choice as available in the bleachers and designated field area. Recommended graduate attire, including cap/tassel/gown, is the balance of a formal outdoor event with the ability to manage warm outdoor temperatures. Shoes with pointed heels are inappropriate for walking on the turf and for student safety are not to be worn. Graduates may choose to decorate caps as interested and appropriate. The wearing or displaying of flags on or around the body is not permitted. Gowns must be fully zipped throughout the ceremony. A dignified manner of dress is required in order to participate.
Weather
At this time, the extended forecast for Graduation evening reflects sun and clouds and temperatures approximately 75 degrees. We are prepared for an outdoor ceremony and expect a beautiful event. We will monitor the weather forecast this afternoon. In the event of poor weather (anticipated or actual), the ceremony will be in the auditorium with attendance limited to four ticketed guests per graduate.
Remote Viewing & Photography
To support family, friends, and staff interested in viewing the ceremony but unable to attend, we will make every effort to provide a web-based live stream presentation of the ceremony. The livestream will be on our LVCSD website: LV High School Film and Television YouTube. Photographers and videographers will be on site to take pictures and video during the ceremony.
Gratitude
Thank you to our dedicated and generous group of students, staff, parents, and community members who have supported so many wonderful spirit events, in addition to academic & social support, through the school experience for our graduates.
Graduation is a special event for the graduates, families, and our school community. Congratulations to all involved students, families, and staff.
