Locust Valley High School senior Will Nabet will take the field this fall with the 2026 USA Lacrosse Boys’ U19 Youth National Team, fulfilling a dream he has held since childhood.
Will, who earned MVP honors at the Nassau vs. Suffolk county showcase game in June, credits Coach Tom Duggan with encouraging him to try out for the Nassau team—a step that helped him reach the national stage.
“I've worked really hard and I'm really thankful for this opportunity,” Will says.
Coach Duggan praises Will as a hard worker, leader and a great teammate.
“The thing I respect most about Will is the work he puts in when nobody is watching. He’s not doing it for attention or recognition, he's constantly pushing himself because he wants to prove to himself how good he can be. He’s a great example for the younger guys in our program that if you stay committed, put the work in, and take advantage of your opportunities, you can accomplish some pretty special things right here at Locust Valley. To see Will earn the opportunity to wear USA across his chest is something our entire program is extremely proud of,” Coach Duggan says.
The national team brings together 24 players from 15 states, according to USA Lacrosse. It will make its international debut at the Brogden Cup in Sparks, Maryland, Sept. 25–27, before traveling to Oshawa, Ontario, for the Rivalry Challenge Oct. 9–11.
