The middle school cheer team was honored at the Jan. 28 Board of Education Meeting for helping Bayville Primary School students with their homework throughout the fall.

The Board of Education recognized the middle school cheer squad last night for their role as homework helpers for students at Bayville Primary School throughout the fall. To better utilize the time the Bayville students have while waiting for buses to after school activities, Ms. Shishkoff and her cheer team decided to step up and help students with homework and reading. The helpers and the Bayville students built up a rapport throughout the fall, and the BP students were provided with incredible role models to show them how to be leaders in their community.

“What began as a small idea became something impactful because of the way these girls followed through,” Ms. Shishkoff said. “It is every coach’s hope to see their athletes lead with kindness and heart.”
