Locust Valley Library will present “Friday Night Lights: Locust Valley Sports Through the Years” on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, in its MNA Community Room.
Featuring historic footage spanning from the 1970s through early 2000, the program will celebrate the games, people, traditions and memories that have shaped Locust Valley sports.
The event builds on the library’s ongoing work to preserve Locust Valley High School football films. Library staff have digitized more than 50 hours of film and VHS footage, with more to come, bringing decades of local athletic history back to life. The collection is now searchable online through the library’s website.
Locust Valley Central School District Superintendent Dr. Kristen Turnow and Athletic Director Dr. Danielle Turner Cosci helped make the project possible by connecting the library with this collection, giving the community a new way to revisit and celebrate its sports history.
“Friday Night Lights” offers an opportunity to share those memories and celebrate the pride that connects generations.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.
